Farm History

Ms. Pu Thongtip has been cultivating cacao with her husband for over 14 years now along with durian, coconut, banana, coffee and a variety of herbs for the local market. They are the third generation of cacao farmers and share cacao knowledge and expertise of improving quality cultivation with neighbouring farms and communities.

Biodiversity

Ms. Pu Thongtip practises sustainable intercropping farming methods. The cacao trees are
intercropped with durian, coconut, banana, coffee and a variety of herbs. Cacao trees are grown
between our durian, coconut and banana trees and bring in a sustainable income for my family
and community.Water sources are from mountains and short canals through valleys that provide a water sourcefor many farms in the area.

Cacao Trees

Ms. Pu Thongtip has 4,000 cacao trees with the average age of each tree being 13 years old.
